Highlighting Urban Green Spaces For Education
Outdoor education not only helps students become attuned to their surroundings and gain an appreciation for the natural world, but it also plays an important role in allowing them to apply and observe what they have learned in the classroom. Additionally, it contributes significantly to their personal and social development
The HUGS Project, which took place in ACIPAYAM/KELEKCI from May 2, 2023, to May 4, 2023, was successfully completed. This meeting brought together participants from various organizations with the aim of emphasizing and promoting the importance of urban green spaces for education.
The participants were five teachers per partner. This activity was not limited to one target group, it had the ability to benefit learners from a wide variety of backgrounds and institutions. It directly benefited the schools and teachers involved in the training course, who will then in turn benefit children enrolled in all years of school education, from early years care settings through to secondary education. It also benefited those in further education and even those in work. Outdoor space can be utilised for team-building exercises and work-based training.
